DOOR & WINDOW ELEVATIONS

The APS Door and Window Elevation System has several commands but the engine to create door and window elevations is basically a single command incorporating many. This means there is only one command name to remember when creating door and window elevations. Simple. Powerful.

Beyond that the only other thing to remember is the WGRID command to add grids to glazing in doors and windows.

Insertion Methods

The DWELEV command creates and inserts elevations two ways:

1. Manually

(dialog above reduced in size)

Select your door or window type from the dialog above,

Select or enter a size for the type of door or window selected (sample dialog shown at right for a single door)

And finally insert the block...

or...

2. Automatically (when using the APS Plan Door & Window commands)

You may select one of the door or window blocks from your floor plan, select the finish floor line and...

The window shows up in the right location in your elevation. Select the next door or window and its elevation appears.

Continue picking doors and windows until you have finished your elevation.

With either insertion method...

Doors and windows that have several style possibilities will bring up a dialog to allow you to select the style you want.

This is the dialog that you would see when you select a single door like the one selected above right.

Need grids in your doors and/or windows?

The WGRID command adds or deletes window grids in both door and window elevation blocks.

If a window does not have a grid showing, the above dialog will appear and you may choose from one of three window grid styles. If the window already has a grid, it will be removed.
