New features in version 2007.01
- Fully compatible with AutoCAD 2007
- We have created a drawing referencing system. This system allows your
drawing referencing to automatically update as drawings in your set move
and change. This system is simple, is fully integrated into our
architectural symbols system, and does NOT require the use of AutoCAD's
sheetset manager. As part of this referencing system we have added several
new commands:
-
INSCALLOUT1/2 - Two commands
to insert drawing referencing callouts. The first is designed to insert
the standard round callout symbol and the second is a text version that
can be inserted in notes and other text. Both of these callouts can be
automatically updated as drawings in your set move and/or change. Both
symbols are fully customizable so that you may change the appearance and
visibility of the symbols.
-
INSTITLE1/2/3/4 - Four
commands to insert drawing titles. The first inserts just the number/sheet
symbol, the second and third insert the number/sheet symbol and title
text, the fourth inserts the number/sheet symbol, title text, and a
drawing bar scale block based on the scale of the drawing when inserted.
- ADDWGREFS - Adds and verifies the titles and callouts from the current
drawing with the current job's drawing reference database file.
-
UPDATDWGREFS - Updates all
the drawing reference symbols in a drawing.
- The architectural symbols have been updated to insert symbols that
work with this referencing system.
- The TXTEDT command has been updated so that it edits both drawing
titles and reference callouts.
- We have added a fourth layer control method. This method allows you to
directly specify a layer or layers for each command or command type. While
this method is a bit more tedious than the our methods using "layer types" it
is simpler and easier to understand.
-
We created the STAIRSECT command.
This command draws wood, concrete, and metal pan stairs in section. It
includes an interactive dialog that helps you select your rise and run so
your stairs will easily meet your projects requirements.
- We have made some changes to the way a drawing opens when using the
"Layer Schemes" layer control method. Drawings open faster and the layers
remain as they were the last time the drawing was saved.
-
We created the OPENWEB command. A new addition to the detailer set of
commands that draws wood/metal open-web trusses/joists in elevation.
- We redid all the leader commands so they now create AutoCAD "leader"
objects. This allows them to be stretched and moved much easier without
the arrowhead cocking at a strange angle.
- Reworked the BARSCALE command and we now include more blocks for more scales.
- Created 3 more DIMSET commands. Each allowing you to restore dimension
variables for a total of 4 different dimension styles. The APS-CONFIG
command has been updated to allow the dimension variable settings to be
modified for each of the DIMSET commands.
- Added the ability to set the values of any of the four DIMSET commands
from the current drawing's current dimension style.
- Created the SPLITEXT command. It quickly splits a single line of Dtext into two
lines at a location you select.

New features and fixes:
- Added the ability to name all of the fonts created by the APS software
instead of having the names set by the software.
- Changed the way the DETAILER command runs internally. The main menu of
the detailer is now customizable just like the plan block and elevation
block libraries. You may move the detailer commands around add to them
etc.
- Fixed the APS-CONFIG command so that when you try to change the layer
type to which a command is assigned you will no longer lock-up.
- Fixed BBLLDR so that it will work with MTEXT and so you may draw
"bubble" leaders without "elbows" by pressing <Enter> or <Space> instead
of entering another point.
- Added the ability to import layers into the layer scheme editor from
saved AutoCAD layer states.
- Fixed job file search subroutine so that offices with job numbers with
just a couple of characters will no longer crash.
- Fixed the Detailer's standard brick in section so that 3 courses add
up to 8" and not 7 7/8".
- Added the ability for hatches in the hatch palettes to be
nonassociative.
- Fixed the APS-CONFIG command so that it no longer stops for a long
time when exiting if the screen menu is long.
- Fixed the door sills so that whether they get drawn is based on the
door sills value in the APS-CONFIG routine (instead of being based on the
value for whether to draw headers).
- Fixed the dialog in the APS-CONFIG command so that when selecting a
layer type for a command you get the layer type you clicked on and not the
one two or more down from the one you clicked on.
- Changed the way the APS fonts are loaded. The font that was current
the last time the drawing was saved will remain current the next time the
drawing is opened.
- Changed the way APS uses the current scale factor of a drawing.
Previously a proprietary variable was set when the drawing was opened or
when you used an APS command to change the scale factor. The APS commands
now simply use the AutoCAD "DIMSCALE" system variable whenever a command
needs to know what the scale is in the current drawing.
- Added the ability for detailer commands to use the solid hatch pattern
for pattern fills.
- Fixed the door and window schedules so that they don't use the fonts
for the finish schedule.
- Added the ability for the text editing command (TXTEDT or TE) to add
keynote definitions on the fly without the need to use the KEYDEFS keynote
definition editor.
- When you click on "Add Keynote" in KEYDEFS the new keynote number will
default to the lowest unused number in your list of keynotes.
Version 2006.07
New features and fixes:
- It is now possible to purchase select portions of the APS
system. We are now offering the APS
Door and Window Commands and the APS
Detailer, Blocks, and Hatch Commands portions of the APS
system.
- Changed the way the APS menus are loaded. Instead of replacing your
current menu the APS menus now load "in addition to" your existing menus
allowing all your existing menu customizations to remain. Instead of using the
"MENU" command to load the APS menu files we now use the "MENULOAD"
command instead.
- Due to the new way we load our software a new command (SCREENCLEAN)
has been created to get rid of the AutoCAD screen menu commands that will
show up on top of the layer commands in the screen menu area. This new
command "comments out" the AutoCAD screen menu commands so they will not
interfere with the layers on the screen menu.
- Changed sorting routine on schedules so that double letters will come
after single letters. For example "AA" will come after "Z" so the order
would be "X, Y, Z, AA, BB, CC...etc" instead of "A, AA, B, BB, C,
CC...etc."
- Improved menus so they take better advantage of the AutoCAD 2006
interface.
- Fixed door & window callout routines so patio doors will not place the
callouts away from the doors.
- Fixed the "add all layers from current drawing" button in the
"SCHEMEDIT" command so works with AutoCAD 2006.
- There are also numerous smaller "nuisance" bug fixes
Version 2006.03
New features and fixes:
- Added a command to create a variety of metal framing hangers (MTLHANG)
command.
- Fixed the Gypsum Board command (GYPBD) so that you may specify the
thickness to be used.
Version 2006.01
New features and fixes:
- Compatible with AutoCAD® 2006
- Added the material key list command (MATLIST), material key definition editor
(MATDEFS),
and the material key leader commands (MATLDR, MATLDRA, MATLDRB, MATLDRD,
MATLDRS, MATLDRT).
- Added the keynote list command (KEYLIST) and the keynote definition editor
(KEYDEFS).
- Added the ROT45 command to allow you to quickly rotate your cursor to
45 degrees and then back to 0 degrees for dimensioning or other work at 45
degrees.
- Fixed job number search so will find job specific files.
- Added ability to set AutoCAD's PSLTSCALE and LTSCALE in PLOTPREP
command to 1
- Fixed brick in plan in the detailer so does not always draw the brick dashed
- Updated the wood "I" joist sizes in the detailer to reflect new sizes
- Changed residential window cmds so they will adjust to the thickness
of wall they are inserted in.
- Updated residential
door and window commands to allow for any thickness wall, residential
doors and windows will now match wall thickness unless wall thickness is
greater than “maximum window jamb width” or “maximum door jamb width” set
in the APS-CONFIG command.
- Changed the Patio Door command so will adjust to thickness of wall
and will now show accurate door swings

object to dimension will now work.
- Added CGRID command to draw ceiling tile/tees for reflected ceiling
plans
- Added ROOFPLAN command to aid in drawing roof plans for sloped roofs
- Fixed "Add all layers from current drawing" button in layer scheme
editor so that it will strip the filename from the beginning of XREF
dependent layers and added a dialog that allows you to add and remove
layers that will be added to the current scheme so not EVERY layer has to
be added
- Fixed "When changing schemes create all new layers immediately" in
layer control settings in APS-CONFIG so that it will remember the value
selected
- Fixed door and window schedule commands so that if you have a door or
window number with a letter at the end (like 117A) it will sort so that
117A will immediately follow 117 and precede 118 instead of putting it and
all other numbers with letters at the end of the list.
- Fixed when APS is configured to "create all new layers immediately
when changing schemes" if the layer set to be made current in the newly
selected layer scheme does not exist, another layer from the selected
scheme will be made current instead of leaving the current layer from the
last scheme current.
- Fixed ALLCALL command so text callout for bifold and bipass doors will
not be inside the closet
- Fixed CPY2FLR so that if your floor level number is at the beginning
of the layer name it will create layers on the new floor level with the
correct name.
