Breakdown of configuration optionsPlan Location When Drawing ElevationsCommand affected: DWELEV
When drawing door and window elevations the DWELEV command needs to know which side of the finish floor line to draw the door and window blocks. You may draw the elevations at any angle. The plan position is relative to the elevation being drawn. If the plan is located in the direction that is up for the elevation being drawn then it is considered above the elevation. If the plan is located in the direction that is down in the elevation being drawn then it is considered below the elevation.
This allows the elevations to be drawn around a plan like in the image above. In this image the plan would be considered "Above the elevation" no matter which elevation you were working on. Select where you usually place the plan relative to the elevation you are drawing. For more on drawing elevations like in the image above see Drawing elevations around a plan in the Tips & Tricks area. Back to top
