Breakdown of configuration optionsHatch PatternCommand affected: PLANHATCH
The cell number being edited is shown at the top. The cells are numbered from left to right, top to bottom. Select the hatch pattern that you would like to use for this cell from the drop-down list. Back to top
Hatch RelativeCommand affected: PLANHATCH
If you would like to have the hatch pattern start relative to a selected base point, check here. Otherwise the hatch pattern will always start from the current snap base point (from AutoCAD's system variable "SNAPBASE"). Using a relative hatch can be very helpful with brick patterns, ceiling grid patterns etc. If checked, the base point for the hatch will be selected just prior to hatching. Back to top
Prompt for Scale/Rotation or Make a Preset HatchCommand affected: PLANHATCH
Check the box if you would like to be able to enter the scale and rotation each time you use this pattern. When the box is checked you may specify a default rotation and scale for this hatch pattern.
If you leave the box unchecked you will set up this hatch with a preset rotation and scale. Every time you use this hatch it will use the rotation and scale specified here. You may also have the scale adjust with the scale of the drawing so that the pattern will always plot the same size regardless of the drawing scale. When scaling the pattern with the drawing enter the scale factor here that produces the correct hatch size in a full size drawing (scale factor of 1.0). Having a preset rotation and angle is a great timesaver because it can take the guessing out of using hatches. Once you find the rotation and scale that work the best for a given situation you may "lock it in" and always be able to use it regardless of scale. Back to top
Hatch Color and LineweightCommand affected: PLANHATCH
Select the color and lineweight for the hatch (How to select colors). If you are using release 14 or earlier the lineweight value will have no effect now, but we encourage you to set it so you won't have to later when you upgrade. These settings are especially useful for hatches that use dots. Dot hatches very often need a heavier lineweight than other hatches in order to be seen and because the color and lineweight can be set here they can always print the correct color/lineweight regardless of the layer they end up on.
