Breakdown of configuration optionsColor and Lineweight for Commercial Window SillsCommands affected: C-CWIND, O-CWIND
Select the color and lineweight for the window sills (how to select colors). These are the window sills that are part of the commercial window block (not to be confused with "window wall beyond" lines which are the sill lines of the walls. See below). If you are using AutoCAD® Release 14 or earlier the lineweight value will have no effect now, but we encourage you to set it so you won't have to later when you upgrade. Back to top
Commercial Window PositionCommands affected: C-CWIND, O-CWIND
Select whether you would like the window centered in the wall or flush with the outside line of the wall. (this is only used when the wall is thicker than the window) Back to top
Thickness for Commercial Window JambsCommands affected: C-CWIND, O-CWIND
Enter the thickness for the window jambs. This thickness is the thickness you would see if looking at the window in elevation. Back to top
Maximum Width for Commercial Window JambsCommands affected: C-CWIND, O-CWIND
The jamb of the window will be drawn the same thickness as the wall it is inserted in up to this dimension. If the wall is thicker than the distance entered here the jamb will be drawn this width. Back to top
Number of Glass Lines to Draw in Commercial WindowsCommands affected: C-CWIND, O-CWIND
Select the number of lines to draw to represent the glass in the window. Back to top
Distance Between Glass Lines in Commercial WindowsCommands affected: C-CWIND, O-CWIND
If you draw two glass lines for your windows (from setting directly above) enter the distance you would like to show between the two glass lines drawn. Back to topMaximum Width for Residential Window JambsCommands affected: C-RWIND, O-RWIND
The jamb of the window will be drawn the same thickness as the wall in which it is inserted up to this dimension. If the wall is thicker than the distance entered here, the jamb will be drawn this width. Back to top
Minimum Framing DistancesCommands affected: C-CWIND, C-RWIND, O-CWIND, O-RWIND
For each of the window types listed above you may force an amount of wall on each side of the window for framing or trim requirements. Enter the distance for each window type in the box provided. To disable this feature enter zero for the distance. Back to top
Window HeadersCommands affected: C-CWIND, C-RWIND, O-CWIND, O-RWIND
Select whether you would like window headers drawn. (Y = yes, N = no). The headers are two lines that connect the outermost wall lines on each side of the window and are designed to fill the window opening when in a reflected ceiling plan. The layer that the header lines are drawn on is the layer assigned to the "All window headers" category in the Assign Layer Types to Commands portion of the APS-CONFIG command. If using "No layer control" this feature is disabled. Back to top
Wall Beyond LinesCommands affected: C-CWIND, C-RWIND, O-CWIND, O-RWIND
Select whether you would like to draw the "wall beyond lines" aka "wall sill lines" when the wall is thicker than the window frame. (Y = yes, N = no). The "wall beyond lines" are two lines that connect the outermost wall lines on each side of the window and are designed to show where the wall is below where the window is cut in plan.. The layer that the "wall beyond lines" are drawn on is the layer assigned to the "All wall beyond lines (sills)" category in the Assign Layer Types to Commands portion of the APS-CONFIG command. If using "No layer control" this feature is disabled. Back to top
Demo FeatureCommands affected: C-CWIND, C-RWIND, O-CWIND, O-RWIND
Select whether you would like to use the "Demo" feature. (Y = yes, N = no) The "Demo" feature will break the walls and place the portion removed on the "Demo" layer if the wall is an existing wall. To determine if the wall was an existing wall the layer of the wall lines is compared to the list set below and if the layer matches one of the layers in the list it is "demo'ed". The layer the "demo'ed" wall lines are placed on is the layer assigned to the "Demolition when inserting windows" category in the Assign Layer Types to Commands portion of the APS-CONFIG command. If using "No layer control" this feature is disabled. Back to top
Layers to Treat as Existing When Inserting WindowsCommands affected: C-CWIND, C-RWIND, O-CWIND, O-RWIND
Enter a layer name or wildcard in each box for layers to treat as existing when inserting windows. When a window is inserted if the layer name of the walls being broken matches the names or wildcards entered above the portion of the wall cut out for the window will be changed to the "Demo" layer. The layer the "demo'ed" wall lines are placed on is the layer assigned to the "Demolition when inserting windows" category in the Assign Layer Types to Commands portion of the APS-CONFIG command. If using "No layer control" this feature is disabled. Back to top |
