Command to sequentially "number" a series of attribute blocks (and/or text if selecting each to change) using numbers, letters, or a combination of both. (1, 2, 3... A, B, C... or A1, A2, A3...). Once the type of numbering has been selected and the number/letter to start with has been entered, the attributes can be numbered either one at a time or you may globally change them. When selecting the attribute blocks or text one at a time the command will number them in the order selected. When numbering globally you will be prompted for a direction and the command will sweep across the drawing in the direction chosen and number the attribute blocks as it goes.
Note: when using the sequential alphabet this command will skip the letters "I" and "O".

Command: ATTCOUNTThe following dialog appears:
First decide if you would like to change the symbols one at a time by selecting each symbol or if you would like to do it globally.
Next decide which counting method you would like to use and the character to start with. If you would like to start with characters other than what is shown change the character(s) in the box for that counting method. For example, if you wanted to count numerically but wanted to start with the number 201, type 201 in the "Start w/:" box and press the

[Global option]
When changing symbols globally you have the option to only change the symbols that are on the same layer as the one that you will select or to have the command find all of the symbols that match the one selected no matter what layer they are on.
Next you may choose a direction for the command to count. If you choose the button in the lower left of the square the symbols will be numbered starting at the lower left corner and will count toward the upper right as shown in the image in the center.
When you have chosen what symbols to change and the direction to number them press "OK".
Select one of the symbols to globally change:
You are now asked to select a representative of the symbols that will be numbered. This symbol does not have to be the first or last or anything special, however, if you chose to only number the symbols on the same layer as the symbol selected, you should select a symbol that resides on the layer desired.
--The symbols will be updated and the command will let you know how many symbols it changed--
62 total symbols changed.
[end - Global option]
The command looks for an attribute in the block with
the tag "NUMBER".
This is so that if there are several attributes in a block it will find the
correct one to change. If it doesn’t find an attribute with this tag in the
block it will change the first attribute in the block.
