BREAK LINE (A.K.A. CUT LINE)

This command draws a break line, also known as a cut line. It is automatically scaled to the scale of the drawing.

User configurable options: 

• You may set the style and size of the break line.

See the Arch. Symbols section of the APS Configuration Utility.

Layers:

• If you are using "No Layer Control" the symbol will be inserted on whatever layer is current. See the Layer Control section of the APS Configuration Utility.
   
• If you are using "Direct Layer Assignment" or a layer scheme the break line is inserted on the the layer assigned to "Drawing symbols".  For information on assigning layer names to a layer type see Assigning Layer Names to a Layer Type Using Direct Layer Assignment or Assigning Layer Names to a Layer Type in a Layer Scheme.

• The default layer type for the break line is "Drawing symbols".
  • If you are using "Direct Layer Assignment" the layer name is assigned to this layer type in the Layer assignments portion of the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.
  • If you are using "Layer Schemes" the layer name is assigned to this layer type in the Assigning Layer Names to Layer Types portion of the SCHEMEDIT command.

  The layer type for this command can be changed in the Assigning Layer Types to Commands portion of the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.  

Known limitations:

• Some plotter drivers in combination with some versions of AutoCAD will not plot the full curved break line style even though it is all really there in the drawing.

• Submit a limitation not listed.

SAMPLE BREAKLIN COMMAND SYNTAX:

Command:
Command: BREAKLIN

Specify first point:

Select the first point of the break line.

Select second point or [D]ist/[L]ength/direction dialog:

Orthomode is turned on for the selection of this point (you can always turn it back off with <F8> or if you want the break line slanted). Select the second point or type "D" or "L" to specify it relative to the first point using the Distance/Length & direction dialog.
