Command to center a commercial window (hollow metal / storefront etc.) in a wall. The window can be of any size (wall length allowing) and may have any number of window bays.
User configurable options:
See Window Commands in the Floor Plan Cmds section of the APS-CONFIG command.

The layer types for this command can be changed in the Assigning Layer Types to Commands portion of the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.

Select base point on which to center commercial window or <Enter>/<Space> for MID2PT:
If the center of the wall can be found by using the midpoint of one of the wall lines, select the midpoint of that wall line now. The midpoint snap is added to your running object snaps if it is not already being used. If the base point location cannot be found using one of the standard object snaps press <Enter> or <Space> and use the MID2PT option which can locate the base point midway between any two points selected.

Select a point outside the wall lines to place the commercial window in:
Select the point.

Select a second point crossing all of the lines that make up the wall:
Select the second point of the crossing line that crosses the lines/plines/mlines that make up the wall. The following dialog will appear:
The maximum window size is displayed at the top of the dialog (the max width shown above is 7'-3"). This distance reflects any minimum framing widths that have been set up. (See Window Commands in the Floor Plan Cmds section of the APS-CONFIG command) If the window size that you need to enter is larger than the "Maximum window size" shown at the top it is possible to override the minimum framing requirements and insert a window size that is equal to the full length of the wall.
Once the desired sizes have been entered press

The following dialog will appear:
This dialog tells the window command how many window "bays" or "panes" to show in the opening. By selecting one of the number buttons (
through
) or typing a number in the box, the command divides the opening into that many equal sized window "bays" each separated by a mullion.
Below these ten buttons are four that adjust the number of windows in an attempt to create windows of a given size. The actual size is displayed to the left of the buttons. (these on center sizes include jambs) The above example is for a 10'-0" rough opening with 2" jambs. (You will note that the window bay size for the 4' is the same as the 5'. This is because the command has determined that the closest that it can get to a 4' bay is approx. 5'. So pressing either the 4' or 5' buttons will give you the same result)
In the Windows section of the APS-CONFIG command you may choose to draw the windows "centered in the wall" or "flush with the outside wall" line. This is only an issue if the wall thickness is greater than the "maximum window jamb width" (also set in the Windows section of the APS-CONFIG command)

If you have selected to position the window flush with the outside wall line you will be asked to show which side of the wall is the outside. Select a point on the exterior side of the wall.
