Component of the Detailer command that draws structural steel " C " channels.
User configurable options:
See Stl "C" Channel in the Section/Detail Cmds section of the APS Configuration Utility.
Layers:
The layer types for this command can be changed in the Assigning Layer Types to Commands portion of the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.

Command:
Command: CCHANThe following dialog will appear:
The
button will take you to the main selection screen of the detailer command.
The
button brings you to this web page for help during the command (without canceling)
First select the channel type from the choices on the left, then the channel size and/or weight.
Select corner point of the "C" channel or <Enter> to center:
Either select the corner point or press <Enter> or <Space> to center the channel.

Selected the corner point (from above). The endpoint and intersection snaps are added to your running object snaps if not already being used.
Enter direction along long side of "C" channel or [A]ng[L]e/[D]irection dialog:
Ortho is turned on for this point. (Turn it off with <F8> or
to draw other angles.) Select a point, enter an angle, or press "A", "L", or "D" and use the AngLe/Direction dialog. Note: When drawing a line, the length of the line does not affect the length of the channel.
Side for "C" channel thickness:
Select the side for the channel to be drawn. The white dashed line that appears is to show the direction that the channel is going to be drawn. This is especially helpful in selecting a side when you specify an angle without other objects around for reference.

The following dialog appears:
Select the orientation that you would like. (Don't worry, your C-channel won't look like the pictures shown. This is a generic dialog.)
Enter center point for "C" channel:
Select the center point for the channel.
Enter second point along centerline of "C" channel or [A]ng[L]e/[D]irection dialog:
Ortho is turned on for this point. (Turn it off with <F8> or
to draw other angles.) Select a point, enter an angle, or press "A", "L", or "D" and use the AngLe/Direction dialog. Note: When drawing a line, the length of the line does not affect the length of the channel.
Select side for web of channel:
Select the side for the web of the channel to be drawn. You are only asked for the side for the web when drawing the channel centered vertically. The white dashed line that appears is to show the direction that the channel is going to be drawn. This is especially helpful in selecting a side when you specify an angle without other objects around for reference.
