CLOSET ROD AND SHELF

This command draws a closet rod & shelf in a closet and adds a "Rod & Shelf" note and a "Closet" note. 

User configurable options: 

• Text to place on shelf
• Text to place in closet
• Width at which to use "short" versions of above text
• "Short" version of text to place on shelf
• "Short" version of text to place in closet
• Distance shelf line should be from back of closet
• Linetype, color and lineweight of shelf line
• Distance rod line should be from back of closet
• Linetype, color and lineweight of rod line
• The text style and size used for the notes is the same as for "Note and leader text" - see the Text-Leaders section of the APS Configuration Utility.

Layers:

• If you are using "No Layer Control" the closet rod and shelf lines will be drawn on whatever layer is current. See the Layer Control section of the APS Configuration Utility.

• The default layer type for the closet rod & shelf lines is "Casework" and the default layer type for the notation is "Notes & Leaders". 
  • If you are using "Direct Layer Assignment" the layer names are assigned to these layer types in the Layer assignments portion of the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.
  • If you are using "Layer Schemes" the layer names are assigned to these layer types in the Assigning Layer Names to Layer Types portion of the SCHEMEDIT command.

  The layer types for this command can be changed in the Assigning Layer Types to Commands portion of the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.  

Known limitations:

• The closet rod and shelf lines will be the same length as the back wall line/polyline selected.

• Submit a limitation not listed.

SAMPLE CLOSET COMMAND SYNTAX:

Command:
Command: CLOSET

Select back wall of closet:

Select the back wall line or pline.

 

Select point in direction of closet:

Select a point on the side you would like the rod & shelf drawn.

Dealing with small closets

This command has a built in feature that allows it to compensate for small closets where the text would not fit inside. 

The configuration for this command allows you to enter the width of the widest piece of text (in this case "Rod & Shelf") and if the closet width is smaller than this value it will enter the specified "smaller" text. See "CLOSET" Command in the Floor Plan Cmds section of the APS Configuration Utility.
