The sole purpose of this command is to allow you the ability to resolve command name conflicts between APS-2008 commands and other commands. We have tried to strike a balance between uniqueness and relevance in the naming of our commands, for example, chances are a door command would not have any conflicts if it were named "$D#127XA2" but chances are you would never remember it either. Whereas "DOOR" would be likely to have conflicts but would be easily remembered. This utility allows you to change the APS-2008 command names so that they will not "cover-up" any commands that you may also need to use from other software (unless you WANT to cover them up).

Command: CMDNAMES
The following dialog will appear:
The APS-2008 commands are divided into three groups: transparent commands, general commands, and color commands. The transparent commands are all of the commands that must be entered with parenthesis around them (LIKETHIS) and can be used inside many other commands. The color commands are 257 commands that all do the same thing but with a different color. There is really nothing special enough about them to warrant their own group except that it was a pain to scroll down through all 257 of them to get to the rest of the general commands. Which brings up the general commands; the general commands are the bulk of the APS-2008 commands and are where most of the changes will be made.
Modifying a command name
Regardless of which group you select from, all of the commands are modified the same way: locate the command name that you need to change and select it. The following dialog will appear:
The current command name will appear in the top box followed by the default name and a description of what the command does. Change the command name to what you have decided it should be and then press "OK". The dialog will close and the main list of commands will be updated.
Make as many changes as you need. When finished press "OK" and the dialog will close and your command name changes will be saved. The old command names will still be used in any open drawings until they are closed.
Note: When running a command that has been renamed pressing the "APS-Help" button or "F1" during the command will still take you to the documentation for the command but in the documentation the command will still be referred to by it's original name.
