DIMENSION ALIGNED

Equivalent AutoCAD command:  DIMALIGNED

Added functionality,  features, or special conditions:

• If you are using one of the APS layer control methods this command will always place the dimension on the correct layer.
• This command will always use the default distance. (will not prompt for a distance value)

User configurable options: none

Layers:

• If you are using "No Layer Control" the dimension will be drawn on whatever layer is current. See the Layer Control section of the APS Configuration Utility.

• The default layer type for the dimension is "Dimensions".
  • If you are using "Direct Layer Assignment" the layer name is assigned to this layer type in the Layer assignments portion of the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.
  • If you are using "Layer Schemes" the layer name is assigned to this layer type in the Assigning Layer Names to Layer Types portion of the SCHEMEDIT command.

  The layer type for this command can be changed in the Assigning Layer Types to Commands portion of the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.

Specify first extension line origin or <select object>:

Select the first point for the dimension or select an object.

[Specified first extension line origin (selected a point)]

Specify second extension line origin or [D]ist/[L]ength/direction dialog:

Select the second point for the dimension or type "D" or "L" to enter the point relative to the first point with the Distance/Length & direction dialog.

 

Specify dimension line location or [Mtext/Text/Angle]:

Type in "A" if you want specify a text angle other than the angle of the dimension line, otherwise select a point for the dimension line.

Note: the "Mtext" and "Text" options have been disabled. If you need to change the text of the dimension you will have to do so after the dimension has been created.
