DOUBLE BUILDING SECTION CUT SYMBOL

This command draws a building section cut symbol with a callout "bubble" at each end. The scale of the symbol is automatically adjusted for the scale of the drawing.

The reference symbol used in this command is designed to use the APS drawing referencing system and can be linked to an APS drawing title using either the DCTXTEDT or TXTEDT commands.

User configurable options:

• Appearance of section cut - See Customizing Section Cut Symbols
• Whether to rotate the callout "bubble" with the cut line or to have it fixed. See the Arch Symbols section of the APS-CONFIG command.
• Whether or not to prompt for attribute values immediately. See the Arch Symbols section of the APS-CONFIG command.
• Layer type - See below and Customizing Architectural Symbols in the Block Library

Layers:

• If you are using "No Layer Control" the the symbol will be inserted on whatever layer is current. See the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.

• The default layer type for this symbol is "Drawing symbols".
  • If you are using "Direct Layer Assignment" the layer name is assigned to this layer type in the Layer assignments portion of the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.
  • If you are using "Layer Schemes" the layer name is assigned to this layer type in the Assigning Layer Names to Layer Types portion of the SCHEMEDIT command.

  The layer type for this command can be changed in the Assigning Layer Types to Commands portion of the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.

SAMPLE BUILDING SECTION CUT SYMBOL COMMAND SYNTAX:

  (select symbol from the architectural symbols screen of the block library)

  

Specify center point for section cut bubble:

Select the point to insert the symbol. If you configured the callout "bubble" to rotate with the cut line the "bubble" will be drawn later (example on right), otherwise the callout "bubble" is inserted at the point selected (example on left). If you have configured it so that you are prompted for attribute values immediately, you will be prompted for them when the callout "bubble" is inserted.

  

Specify direction and length of leg:

Orthomode is turned on for this point. (Turn it off with <F8> or to draw other angles.) Once this second point is selected the "leg" or cut line is drawn and the other callout "bubble" is drawn. (if configured to rotate, both the callout "bubbles" are inserted).

  

Select side for direction of cut:

Select a point anywhere on the side that the section cut is "looking". The direction arrows are inserted.
