PREDEFINED DETAIL HATCHES

This command allows you to set up a standard set of 40 hatch patterns and be able to predefine their properties so the trial and error of hatching is eliminated.

User configurable options:

  • For each of the 40 hatches you may configure:
    • Hatch pattern
    • Preset scale and rotation
    • Whether to always use the same scale and rotation or prompt prior to hatching
    • Whether to draw the hatch relative to a base point (brick hatches etc.)
    • Whether to scale the hatch with the drawing scale
    • Color and lineweight to draw the hatch

See Detail Hatches in the Section/Detail Cmds section of the APS-CONFIG command.

Also see Setting up predefined hatches

Known limitations:

  • Unless you opt to select objects when hatching, each area hatched will be a separate hatch entity. (This can also be an advantage)
  • These hatch patterns always use the "outer" hatching style (see AutoCAD's help on "hatching styles") so any islands you would like hatched must be done separately. (This can also be an advantage - especially around door and window elevations etc.)
  • Submit a limitation not listed.

Alternate uses:

  • None reported. If you have an alternate use for this command submit it here.
