DOOR & WINDOW HEADER BEAM

This command is for use in roof and floor framing plans when you need to show header beams over doors and windows. It draws polyline "headers" over APS door and window blocks in plan. It can also be configured to insert text to call out the size of the beam drawn or other notes. Several preset beam sizes/notes can also be configured to help speed the noting of your beams.

Note: this command does NOT size beams, you are responsible for selecting appropriate sizes and/or notes for the beams. This command simply makes calling them out faster.

User configurable options:

  • Header polyline thickness (will scale w/ drawing)
  • Header color, linetype, and lineweight
  • Distance to extend polyline over wall on each side (bearing distance)
  • Wall thickness used for centering the "beam" in the wall. See the General section of the APS-CONFIG command.
  • Whether to note the beam with size text
  • Text presets to aid in quickly indicating the size of the beam

See "HDRBEAM" Command in the Framing Plan Cmds section of the APS-CONFIG command

Layers:

  • If you are using "No Layer Control" the header and size text will be drawn on whatever layer is current. See the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.

Known limitations:

  • The headers must be placed over APS door and window blocks.

Alternate uses:

  • None reported. If you have an alternate use for this command submit it here.
