HIPPED ROOF FRAMING SET

This command draws the trusses/rafters for a hipped roof in a roof framing plan.

SAMPLE HIPSET COMMAND SYNTAX:

Command:
Command: HIPSET

Select outside line of one of the side walls:

Select the wall line.

 

Select hip ridge line on side of first wall line selected:

Select the ridge line.

 

Select outside line of end wall of house:

Select the wall line.

 

Select other hip ridge line:

Select the ridge line.

 

Select outside line of other side wall:

Select the wall line.

Select the lines in the order shown above.

 

  

The pitches do not have to be the same and the command will adjust for small roof sections.

 

If you have a porch or something similar and you would like the trusses to extend out to the beams you may select the side of the column in place of the side wall as shown above. If there is no column you may select the beam instead. 

 

The truss/rafter (shown in yellow above) is drawn so that you have a standard truss/rafter to copy for the remaining area of the roof. The Copy Continuous command does an excellent job of copying trusses/rafters.
