JUST A DOOR

This command inserts one of several door types in to an existing wall opening in a plan.

SAMPLE JDOOR COMMAND SYNTAX:

Command:
Command: JD
Command: JDOOR

The following dialog appears:

Select one of the door types shown.

 

Select first of (2) jamb points on same side of wall:

Select one of the jamb points. The endpoint and intersection snaps are added to your running object snaps if not already being used.

 

Select second jamb point on same side of wall (width of door opening):

Select the opposite jamb on the same side of the wall to show the command the width of the door. The endpoint and intersection snaps are still added to your running object snaps if not already being used.

 

Select jamb point on opposite side of wall from second point (thickness of wall):

Select the jamb point on the adjacent side of the wall to show the command the thickness of the wall. Once again the endpoint and intersection snaps are added to your running object snaps if not already being used.

Depending on which type of door you chose you will see one of the following:

[Single Door]

Select door handing/type desired:

The door type and swing options are shown dashed. Select the one that you would like. Should you miss one of the choices and erase all of them by mistake you may "OOPS" them all back and erase the ones you don’t want manually. You have your choice of: 45, 90, and 180 degree swings and pocket doors. Selecting the door as shown above leaves:

[Double Doors]

Select door handing/type desired:

You may choose between 180°, 90°, and 45° swings and pocket doors. You will also choose handing (swing direction). 

For this example we will select the 90° set of doors swinging to the top of the screen. When selected this leaves:

[Patio Door]

Select door handing/type desired:

You may choose the handing (swing direction) and between 45° & 90° swings. For this example we will select the 45° set of doors swinging to the top of the screen as shown which leaves:

[Sliding Glass Door]

Enter point on exterior side of wall:

Enter the point

[Bifold Door]

Select side for doors:

Select a point (outside the wall lines) on the side of the wall that you want the doors to open and the doors will be drawn. Selecting the point shown above leaves:

[Bipass Door]

-- The doors will be drawn --

 

[Overhead Door]

Select a point on side for Overhead Door:

Select a point on the side of the wall that you want the door to open.
