JOIST (TRUSS, RAFTER, BEAM etc.) HANGERS

This command inserts a joist hanger block at the end of a framing member in a framing plan. It uses a crossing line to select framing members so that you may do many at once. It automatically detects whether you are using single or double lines for your framing and inserts the appropriate block. It is often very difficult to draw the crossing line over only framing members; walls, notes, leaders and other misc objects can get in the way. To help filter out the objects you don't want you may specify the layers that the framing members are drawn on and the hangers will only be drawn on lines that are on one of these layers. This insures that you won't end up with a joist hanger at the end of a leader or one of your wall lines.

Command: JHANG

Select first point of a line to cross the joists/trusses/rafters:

Select the first point of a "crossing" line to select the framing members. In this example we have used both single and double line framing.

Note: When crossing framing members, the hanger will be drawn on the end of the members closest to where the crossing line crossed the line.

Select the second point:

Select the point.

--the hanger blocks are inserted--

Note: The "wall" lines shown (in orange) did not get blocks even though they were selected with the crossing line because their layer is not in the list of configured layers that will have hangers inserted on them. The list of layers that will have hangers drawn on them can be modified in the "JHANG" Command portion of the Framing Plan Cmds section of the APS Configuration Utility.
