SAMPLE JSTCALL COMMAND SYNTAX:

Command: JSTCALL

Select first point of leader callout:
Select the first point of the leader. No object snaps are added to your
existing running snaps when selecting these points because they usually
don't have to be extremely accurate. Of course you may use object snaps if
you want to.

Select second point:
Select the second point crossing the joists/trusses/rafters etc. The
following dialog appears:

This is where you enter the text for the leader. You may either type in the
text desired in the box or you may use some of the predefined text strings to
help make entering the text quicker. The first column of text strings will
replace whatever is in the text box with it's value. The second column will
tack itself on to the end of whatever is in the text box. The default values
are set up so that you have a variety of types of framing on the left and a
variety of spacing on the right. For this example we will assume that we are
doing a floor framing plan and will be using 11 7/8" joists @ 24"
o.c. so we selected the "11 7/8" WD "I" JOISTS"
button to place the type of framing in the text box.

Then we pressed the " @ 24" O.C." button to place the
spacing portion of the text after the type in the text box. All of the default
values on the right have a <Space> as the first character so that when
added to the text already in the text box it won't run together.
The values of these text strings can be customized. See "JSTCALL" Command in the Section/Detail
Cmds section of the
APS
Configuration Utility.
When the text in the text box is what you would like it to say press
.

--the leader is drawn--
If you have configured the command to trim around the leader text, anything
behind the text will be trimmed so that the text is readable.
Note: For those who use the same
drawing for both framing and floor plans and use the same wall lines for both
types of plans; be aware that should the text trim walls or other entities
common with the floor plan they will also be trimmed in the floor plan. This
seems simple enough however it is very easy to forget and "note-up"
a framing plan only to go back to your floor plan an wonder why there are
chunks taken out of some of your walls. Should you want to turn off the
trimming behind the text see "JSTCALL" Command in the Section/Detail
Cmds section of the
APS
Configuration Utility.
Tip: Should you need to edit the text
value of the leader later and either shorten or lengthen the text; you can use
AutoCAD's TRIM and EXTEND commands to trim or extend the objects around the
text as needed. Just select the text as the object to trim with or extend to.
If you have configured the JSTCALL command to
trim the objects behind the text you can also have the text trim everything
behind it again by using the TXTRIM command
