The layer name can be selected by picking on an object in the drawing, typing in a layer name, or if using layer schemes you may select the layer name from either the "Layers" pull-down or from the screen menu. Note: if you are using layer schemes this command is not necessary as selecting a layer from either the screen menu or the "Layers" pull-down will make the layer selected current. Note: the layer names shown in both the screen menu and the pull down are abbreviations of the actual layer name. These abbreviations as well as the full layer name are defined in a layer scheme and can be edited using the SCHEMEDIT command. To configure how layers are displayed on your screen when using layer schemes see the Layer scheme control settings portion of the Layer Control section of the APS Configuration Utility.
