LEADERS

Each of the commands draws a leader starting from the arrow point. The arrowhead and the first leader line are one object when completed. (to eliminate loose arrowheads if the leader is ever erased) The difference between the commands is the type of arrowhead that each uses. The types of arrowheads are shown below:

LEADR - Std Arrowhead LEADRA - Architectural Arrowhead LEADRB - Butterfly Arrowhead LEADRD - Dot Arrowhead LEADRS - Simple Arrowhead LEADRT - Tick Arrowhead

Each of the arrowheads is scaled using the drawing's scale factor so that they will appear the same size on the plotted sheet no matter what the drawing's scale.

User configurable options:

• Size of each of the arrowheads. See the Text - Leaders section of the APS Configuration Utility.

Layers:

• If you are using "No Layer Control" the leader is drawn on whatever layer is current. See the Layer Control section of the APS Configuration Utility.

• The default layer type for all of the leaders is "Notes & Leaders".
  • If you are using "Direct Layer Assignment" the layer name is assigned to this layer type in the Layer assignments portion of the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.
  • If you are using "Layer Schemes" the layer name is assigned to this layer type in the Assigning Layer Names to Layer Types portion of the SCHEMEDIT command.

  The layer type for this command can be changed in the Assigning Layer Types to Commands portion of the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.

SAMPLE [LEADER] COMMAND SYNTAX:

Command: , , , , , or
Command: LDA, LDA, LDB, LDD, LDS, or LDT
Command: LEADR, LEADRA, LEADRB, LEADRD, LEADRS, or LEADRT

Specify arrow point:

Select the point you would like the arrow of the leader to start.

 

Specify second point or [D]ist/[L]ength/direction dialog:

Select the second point for the "elbow" of the leader or press "D" or "L" for the Distance/Length & direction dialog.

Specify third point:

Ortho is turned on for this point. (Turn it off with <F8> or to draw other angles.) Select where you would like the second leader line to end.
