LAMINATED VENEER LUMBER BEAMS

Component of the Detailer command that draws LVL beams of various sizes in section.

Command:
Command: LVLBEAM

The following dialog appears:

The button will take you to the main selection screen of the detailer command.

The button brings you to this web page for help during the command (without canceling)

Select the width you would like and press one of the height buttons or enter a custom width and height in the boxes and press "Draw Custom Size".

 

Select corner point of the LVL beam or <Enter> to center:

Select the corner point or press <Enter> or <Space> to center the beam.

Selected the corner point (from above prompt). The endpoint and intersection snaps are added to your running object snaps if not already being used.

 

Enter direction along long side of LVL beam or [A]ng[L]e/[D]irection dialog:

Ortho is turned on for this point. (Turn it off with <F8> or to draw other angles.) Select a point, enter an angle, or press "A", "L", or "D" and use the AngLe/Direction dialog. Note: When drawing a line, the length of the line does not affect the length of the beam.

 

Side for LVL beam thickness:

Select the side that the beam should reside. The white dashed line that appears is to show the direction that the long side of the beam is going to be drawn. This is especially helpful in selecting a side when you specify an angle without other objects around for reference.

The following dialog appears:

Select the orientation that you would like. 

 

Enter center point for LVL beam:

Select the center point for the beam. The midpoint snap is added to your running object snaps if it is not already being used.

 

Enter second point along centerline of LVL beam or [A]ng[L]e/[D]irection dialog:

Ortho is turned on for this point. (Turn it off with <F8> or to draw other angles.) Select a point, enter an angle, or press "A", "L", or "D" and use the AngLe/Direction dialog. Note: When drawing a line, the length of the line does not affect the size of the beam.
