METAL DECKING

Component of the Detailer command that draws 1 1/2" & 3" metal decking. 

User configurable options: 

• Color and lineweight for decking
• Choice of 1 1/2" or 3" decking

See Metal Decking in the Section/Detail Cmds section of the APS-CONFIG command. 

Layers:

• If you are using "No Layer Control" the decking will be drawn on whatever layer is current. See the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.

• The default layer type for metal decking is "Metal (structural)".
  • If you are using "Direct Layer Assignment" the layer name is assigned to this layer type in the Layer assignments portion of the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.
  • If you are using "Layer Schemes" the layer name is assigned to this layer type in the Assigning Layer Names to Layer Types portion of the SCHEMEDIT command.

  The layer type for this command can be changed in the Assigning Layer Types to Commands portion of the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.

SAMPLE MTLDECK COMMAND SYNTAX:

Command:
Command: MTLDECK

The following dialog will appear:

The button will take you to the main selection screen of the detailer command.

The button brings you to this web page for help during the command (without canceling)

Select the decking size that you would like.

 

Select start point for metal deck:

Select the start point. The endpoint and intersection object snaps are added to your running snaps if they are not being used already.

 

Select end point or [D]ist/[L]ength/direction dialog:

Select the end point for the decking or type "D" or "L" to enter the point relative to the first point with the Distance/Length & direction dialog. This time the endpoint, intersection and perpendicular object snaps are added to your running snaps if they are not being used already.

 

Select side for thickness:

Select the side for the decking. The white dashed line that appears is to show the direction that the decking is going to be drawn. This is especially helpful in selecting a side when you specified a distance & angle without other objects around for reference.
