OFFSET TO LAYER

This command works much like the standard AutoCAD OFFSET command however with this command when you are done offsetting your objects you are prompted for a layer to change all of the new objects to. The layer name that the new objects will go on can be entered several ways: you may type in the layer name, pick on an object, if using layer schemes you may select the layer from either the pull-down or the screen menu, or you may press <Enter> and the new objects will go on the current layer.

SAMPLE OF2LAYR COMMAND SYNTAX:

Command:

Command: OF2LAYR

Specify offset distance, [D]istance/[L]ength dialog, or [Through] <Through>:

Type in the offset distance, "show" the distance by selecting two points, type "T" for through, or press "D" or "L" for the Distance/Length dialog.

 

Select object to offset or <exit>:

Select the object you would like to offset.

 

Specify point on side to offset:

Select a point on the side of the object to offset it to.

 

Select object to offset or <exit>:

Select the object you would like to offset.

 

Specify point on side to offset:

Select a point on the side of the object to offset it to.

 

Select object to offset or <exit>:

You will continue to be prompted for objects to offset until you press <Enter> or <Space> to stop.

 

Type layer, select from screen menu, pick on an object, or <Enter> to change to current Layer <A-ELEV>:

You are now asked for a layer name to change all of the objects you just created to. The layer name that the new objects will go on can be entered several ways: 

Specify the layer name.
