QUICK DIMENSIONS

Equivalent AutoCAD command:  QDIM

Added functionality,  features, or special conditions:

• If you are using one of the APS layer control methods this command will always place the dimension on the correct layer.

User configurable options: none

Layers:

• If you are using "No Layer Control" the dimension will be drawn on whatever layer is current. See the Layer Control section of the APS Configuration Utility.

• The default layer type for the dimension is "Dimensions".
  • If you are using "Direct Layer Assignment" the layer name is assigned to this layer type in the Layer assignments portion of the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.
  • If you are using "Layer Schemes" the layer name is assigned to this layer type in the Assigning Layer Names to Layer Types portion of the SCHEMEDIT command.

  The layer type for this command can be changed in the Assigning Layer Types to Commands portion of the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.

Select geometry to dimension:

Select the object that you would like to dimension. When done selecting press <Enter> or <Space>.

 

Specify dimension line position, or [Continuous/Staggered/Baseline/Ordinate/Radius/Diameter/datumPoint/Edit]

Specify a point or enter the appropriate letter or keyword. For more on the QDIM command's options see AutoCAD's help under "QDIM command".
