Command: RGNLAYRType layer, select from screen menu, pick on an object, or <Enter> to REGEN current Layer <A-WALL-INTR-01>:
Entering the layer name:
[Select from screen menu or pull-down]
If you are using layer schemes you may select the layer from either the screen menu (shown at left) or from the "Layers" pull-down (shown at right). For more on using the screen menu or pull-down for layer control see Using layer schemes. If for some reason the layer selected from either of these lists does not exist it will be created with all the correct layer properties.Note: the layer names shown in both the screen menu and the pull down are abbreviations of the actual layer name. These abbreviations as well as the full layer name are defined in a layer scheme and can be edited using the SCHEMEDIT command.
To configure how layers are displayed on your screen when using layer schemes see the Layer scheme control settings portion of the Layer Control section of the APS Configuration Utility.
[Pick on an object]
Place your crosshairs on an object and pick. The layer that the object is on will be selected.Note: if the object you select is part of a block or an XREF the layer of the block or XREF will be selected even if the object selected resides on another layer inside the block/XREF.
[Type layer]
Obviously you can also just type in the layer name.[Press <Enter> or <Space>]
Press <Enter> or <Space> and the objects will be changed to the current layer. In the example prompt above that would be the A-WALL-INTR-01 layer.
