The

The

Select the type of insulation needed at the top. You may draw insulation with uniform thickness (shown selected above) or you may select tapered (where you select the beginning and ending thicknesses), or you may select tapered by slope (where you select a beginning thickness, a slope and which direction to slope). When you select the type of insulation the appropriate areas of the above dialog become active.
[Uniform thickness]
Enter the thickness you would like for the insulation in the "Starting Thickness" box (since we are drawing uniform thickness insulation this will also be our ending thickness). You may either type in a thickness or select one of the preset buttons.
Select start point for rigid insulation:
Select the corner point. The endpoint and intersection snaps are added to your running object snaps if not already being used.
Select end point or [D]ist/[L]ength/direction dialog:
Select the end point for the insulation or type "D" or "L" to enter the point relative to the first point with the Distance/Length & direction dialog. This time the endpoint, intersection and perpendicular object snaps are added to your running snaps if they are not being used already.
Select side for thickness:
Select the side.
--the insulation is drawn--
[end - Uniform thickness]
[Tapered]
Specify the starting thickness you would like for the insulation in the "Starting thickness" box then specify the ending thickness in the "Ending thickness" box. You may either type in a thickness or select one of the preset buttons.
Select start point for rigid insulation:
Select the starting corner point. This is the portion of the insulation that will have the thickness that was specified in the "Starting thickness" box. The endpoint and intersection snaps are added to your running object snaps if not already being used.

This is the portion of the insulation that will be the thickness specified in the "Ending thickness" box. The endpoint, intersection and perpendicular object snaps are added to your running snaps if they are not being used already.
Select side for thickness:

[end - Tapered]
[Tapered by slope]
Specify the starting thickness you would like for the insulation in the "Starting thickness" box. You may either type in a thickness or select one of the preset buttons. Then select the direction to slope relative to the start point (up/thicker or down/thinner). Finally specify a slope in inches per foot. You may type in a value or press one of the preset buttons.
