ROOM NAME / NUMBER SYMBOL

This command inserts a room name/number symbol at a specified point. The scale of the symbol is automatically adjusted for the scale of the drawing. This symbol has two blocks that it uses. When there is a room number entered the block that has the "box" surrounding the number is used. When there is no room number, the block without the "box" is substituted. This is to allow the room name/number symbol to be used in preliminary drawings (when no numbers or boxes are wanted) and then updated to include numbers (and the surrounding box) when using the plan for construction documents. Note: to use this feature of the room name/number symbol you must use the TXTEDT or ATTCOUNT commands to edit the room number value.

User configurable options:

• Size and shape of symbol - See Customizing room name and number symbols
• Size and style of symbol text - See Customizing room name and number symbols
• Which attribute values are visible in the symbol - See Modifying attribute definitions in door, window, and room symbol blocks
•  Symbol prompts and default values and finish schedule category titles to be used with the finish schedule command (FINSCHED). See Finish Schedule / Room Symbol - Titles and Prompts in the Schedules section of the APS-CONFIG command.

Layers:

• If you are using "No Layer Control" the the symbol will be inserted on whatever layer is current. See the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.

• The default layer type for this symbol is "Room Names & Numbers".
  • If you are using "Direct Layer Assignment" the layer name is assigned to this layer type in the Layer assignments portion of the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.
  • If you are using "Layer Schemes" the layer name is assigned to this layer type in the Assigning Layer Names to Layer Types portion of the SCHEMEDIT command.

  The layer type for this command can be changed in the Assigning Layer Types to Commands portion of the Layer Control section of the APS-CONFIG command.
