CONVERT STANDARD TEXT TO MTEXT

This command converts a series of lines of standard text to a single mtext (multi-line text) object.

User configurable options: none

Layers:

  • If the text is on multiple layers you will be prompted to select which of the layers you would like the mtext to be on. Otherwise the mtext is placed on the layer that the original text was on.

Known limitations:

  • This command will convert a maximum of 500 lines of text.
  • This command creates the mtext with only one text style, color, and size. So any special text variations are lost in the conversion.
  • This command sorts the text from top to bottom so multiple columns of text will be blended into one column.
  • Submit a limitation not listed.

Alternate uses:

  • None reported. If you have an alternate use for this command submit it here.
