This portion of the TXTEDT command will edit any of the plan window blocks. These include all the window blocks created by the C-CWIND, C-RWIND, O-CWIND  and O-RWIND commands. You may select more than one window block at a time but they must all be either all commercial or all residential windows.

[Commercial windows]

Select one or more commercial window blocks, press <Enter> or <Space>, and the following dialog appears:

The size of the window selected is displayed. If you would like to change the size of the window either enter the new sizes in the boxes or press the preset foot/inch buttons below each box.

If we had selected more than one window and if the windows were of different sizes one or more of the values shown in the boxes would be *Varies*. Leave this value if you would like the sizes of each of the windows to stay what they are or enter a size to have all of the windows selected change to this new size.

Once the size is what you would like it to be press and the following dialog will appear:

This dialog tells the window command how many window "bays" or "panes" to show in the opening. The current number of bays is displayed in the "Number of windows" box. By selecting one of the number buttons ( through ) or typing a number in the box, the command divides the opening into that many equal sized window "bays" each separated by a mullion.

Below these ten buttons are four that adjust the number of windows in an attempt to create windows of a given size. The actual size is displayed to the left of the buttons. (these " on center" sizes include jambs) The above example is for a 8'-0" rough opening with 2" jambs. (You will note that the window bay size for the 4' is the same as the 5'. This is because the command has determined that the closest that it can get to a 5' bay is approx. 4'. So pressing either the 4' or 5' buttons will give you the same result)

Once again if we had selected more than one window and if the windows had different numbers of window in them the value in the number box would be *Varies*. Leave this value if you would like the number of windows to stay what they are or enter a new number to have all of the windows selected change to each have the new number of windows.

If you do not select one of the "Preset Sizes" buttons press when you have made the changes to the type and sizes desired and the dialog will close.

--the window(s) will be changed--

[end - Commercial windows]

[Residential windows]

Fixed window

Sliding window

Single hung window

Select one or more residential window blocks, press <Enter> or <Space>, and the following dialog appears:

The current window type is shown at the top (shown as "Slider" here). Change the window type as needed.

If we had selected more than one window and the types were different the "Various" window type would be selected. Leave this value if you would like all of the windows to keep their original window type, select one of the other window types to change all of the windows to this new type.

Below is the width and height of the current window. Modify these values as needed. The buttons shown below the feet and inch boxes will enter both feet and inch values. For example the 2/6 button means 2'-6" and will enter a 2 in the feet box and a 6 in the inch box.

If we had selected more than one window and if the windows were different sizes one or more of the values shown in the boxes would be *Varies*. Leave this value if you would like that particular size value to stay what it is or enter a size to have all of the windows selected change to this new size.

When you have made all the necessary changes press and the dialog will close.

Speed Tip: After selecting the window type or any of the width or height buttons the button is automatically highlighted so that you may just press <Enter> or <Space> to close the dialog. For example if all you needed to do was change the height of the window to 5'-0" you could just press the 5/0 button and then <Space> and the size would be changed and the dialog would close. There is no need to press the button.

--the window block is changed to the values shown in the dialog--
