This command inserts a variety of upper cabinet sizes and configurations. It allows you to specify the width and height of the cabinets as well as the number of doors and their configuration. You may also have it draw a range hood or a microwave w/ hood. The command creates the blocks as needed so a variety of non standard sizes and heights can be created.

SAMPLE UPPERCABS COMMAND SYNTAX:
Command:
Command: UPPERCABSThe following dialog appears:
Choose the configuration desired.
If you would like either a range hood or a microwave w/ hood check the appropriate box.
Enter or select the height that you would like the cabinet to be. This height is not restricted to the values shown on the buttons, any positive number can be entered in the Height: box.
Enter or select the width that you would like the cabinet to be. The buttons shown are what would be seen if the configuration width was set to 2 Doors wide, if the width were set to 1 door wide the buttons at the top would not be grayed out. Any positive width value can be entered in the Width: box. Just because a button is greyed out doesn't mean that that size can't be used, it just means that it is not commonly used.
Take a quick look at the preview window to make sure it shows the type of cabinet you want. When all of the values in the dialog are to your liking press
. You will be prompted to:
Select insert point (on baseline) or <Enter> to pick on plan and project to baseline:
You may enter a point on the baseline (floor line) above where you want to place the cabinet (the insertion point for upper cabinets is where the left edge line of the cabinet, if extended, would meet the floor) or you can press <Enter> or <Space> and select a point on the left side of the cabinet in plan and project that point to your baseline.
[Select insert point (on baseline)]
Select the point that is at the floor line that aligns with the left side of the cabinet.
--The cabinet is inserted--
[end - Select insert point (on baseline)]
[Press <Enter> to pick on plan and project to baseline]
The theory behind this is simple, you have a plan that you are using to project into the elevation so that everything lines up. In this example we want to start with the base cabinet in plan and project it perpendicular to our baseline (the floor) in elevation as shown above.
Select point at left side of cabinet in plan:
Select the point. For this example we have used an endpoint object snap to help locate the point.
Select baseline (ground line) of elevation:
Select the line. Don't worry about selecting near where the cabinetry will go, you may select anywhere on the line.
--The cabinet is inserted--
[end - Press <Enter> to pick on plan and project to baseline]
